Bulk Market, Updates, Brain Meats
This may be a shorter one, with a bit less philosophical insight, this week. Having a bit of a rough brain day today, and the creativity is having a hard time flowing. Going to pick up a 250k card collection this evening though, should help smooth out the brain meats
Website Products
A whole lot of leftover Magic bulk commons and uncommons hitting the website Shop after this weekend’s Patreon sale. Not that they didn’t sell pretty well, but this is a pretty big collection, easily a quarter million cards purchased for this one. Adding lots of other stuff there too, more odd singles and some other products, like boxes of Magic tokens.
I’ve also figured out how to make a product on my website that directs you to the product’s home website. I’ve got the Shipping Shields set up on my website, but you don’t pay me directly for those. The page directs you to Shipping Shield’s website, and then you make your purchase. Looking to add more of this kind of product to the website soon, stuff I recommend for running the high volume card selling business. Just makes it easier for me to recommend something, can point you all toward my Shop, rather than keep track of a bunch of different links or locations to direct everyone towards.
Greater Volume of Content
I’ve started my push to produce more content. Short form videos more often than just 1 per day when I feel like it, and more long form content. Been showing results too, glad for the effort I’m putting in. Now I just gotta put that effort toward listing too X.X
That said, I’m really liking the 8th Edition Addition series of Shorts/TikToks/FB Reels I’ve started. Having a lot of fun filling up this binder, and it seems others are liking it too. The video I did about BuySportsCards.com also seems to have gone over well. Trying my best to *be* the content that I document, rather than *create* some piece of content, mindset shift seems to be paying off.
Bulk Market Update
I’m publishing a video for the June bulk market update either tonight or tomorrow, but I figured I’d tell you all what I’m seeing before it releases. Patrons will have already seen this info, but now you get it a bit early as well =]
Despite all the major PR stumbles Wizards of the Coast have had in the last 18 months, the bulk market indicates that the general demand for Magic is at the highest it's ever been. Fears of overprinting are largely out of touch with the low-end market. It is certainly the case that foil prices have tanked in the last couple years, but they are not at zero. The bulk rate for foil C/U is still a good 4x the bulk rate for non-foil. Also, it is significant that the bulk rate for non-foil C/U is holding steady with several vendors buying at $6/1k. When I first started getting into the bulk game, bulk rates had fallen to $4/1k as a high, and many were speculating it to go to $3/1k soon. So this is a big sign of market support. Because of this demand, I honestly think Magic C/U would be just fine at $10/1k, barring significant shocking changes.
Pokemon is always a bit more volatile. Things seem to have settled a bit after Safari Zone's reentry into the market, and places trying to figure out what effect if any the silver border era will have on the bulk markets. There are still some vendors who aren't accepting silver bordered bulk at all, and the price changes indicated in previous updates have held steady. For the most part, reverse holo and regular holo prices are moving towards each other. There remain a couple vendors buying bulk C/U at $20/1k, but most vendors have settled at $15/1k for now.
Yu-Gi-Oh remains really steady, and unless there are a lot of vendors I don't know about with different prices, usually seems to be an add-on to these other business's normal card buying practices. It seems to me a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh bulk trading is done more privately or directly, rather than through online submissions to public buylists.
Derium's is no longer Derium's, they have changed their website name to Luxury Ball Collectibles. This has been reflected in the listings on the Buylist Page, just to make sure that the redirect from deriums.com doesn't depracate at some point. There apparently was a whole behind-the-scenes drama over there, but I don't really want to spend enough time to learn enough about it to report what happened. I'm sure if you really want to know you can find out, seems it's been pretty public.
I've added a new vendor to the list also, Trading Card Emporium! David there has been really nice, has sold me a lot of bulk in the past and is looking to expand his operations. He's got a really good buy price on Magic C/U foils if you're looking to dump a bunch for whatever reason.
Deals and Such
Over at BCW Supplies, they’ve increased the discount for using my promo code! If you use code ‘tcgbulkkings’ at checkout, then you will actually save 20% off your total order, rather than 10%. I still get a commission from this, but it doesn’t change. All that changes is your discount.
